THE PHILOSOPHY OF MY WORK

My beliefs form my story. We cannot escape this.

What I believe is what happens to me. This may sound like magic but it’s really not. My belief feeds my behavior and my behavior informs my life, so what I believe happens to me.

This means the level of intervention needs to be way down low on the belief level.

But how do we access this level?

What creates our beliefs? All our experiences create our beliefs. They are co-created with parents and family, friends and enemies.

Experiences have a context which sets the tone of the beliefs, accessed through schools, religious practices, work, living conditions; and I am sure you can think of more. This multifaceted aspect of experiences means that two people could have the same experience, and come away with different beliefs.

The power doesn’t lie in the belief system we hold, the power lies in accessing and bringing to the surface the beliefs which are not allowing us to thrive. The beliefs that come out of a wounding. When we operate from a wounding, we cannot operate from our power. The power lies in healing those wounds as best we can, to the extent we can, in the moment.

Shifting belief systems is not only a mind thing, it is a wonderful interplay between mind and body. Our beliefs sit in our mind, but they also sit in our body. When we believe a thing about ourselves, our body believes it too. Not only does our body bear witness to that belief, but it carries patterns of automatic behavior which perpetuate the “stuckness” of our being. Part of shifting this is to visualize, imagine and dream. The second part of this is to lift our body energy, vibration or frequency. To lift our frequency allows us to visualize, imagine and dream better than we were able to do previously.

So how do we lift frequency? It is different for each of us, but there are common trends. Practices such as yoga, breath-work, connecting with nature, meditation, prayer, playing, bathing, burning incense, music – anything that is part of the way your body sings into the world, anything that makes you feel good; that is what increases your frequency. To move our mind, we must also interact differently with our body.

So both our mind and body allow us to thrive. Both are key to improving our lives. Both carry an intelligence that allows us to craft the life we want to live.
